About EVOCHQ (Emergency Vehicle Online Community Headquarters)

What originally started as a website for the Emergency Vehicle Owners Club (EVOC) on Facebook has evolved into the new EVOCHQ.com.  This new social community is a bridge between First Responders, Emergency Vehicle Owners, Events, Museums, Collectors, Enthusiasts and many more.  We will be the premiere source for first response-themed events to attend (collector events, car shows, etc.), non-profits to support (police & fire museums), and a compilation of emergency vehicles that can be seen at various events around the country.  As time goes on, we will expand our focus and tailor it to the growing needs of the community.

EVOCHQ is a perfect blend of social media, discussion forums for asking questions and documenting information, a listing of museums and events to support, a marketplace, an Emergency Vehicle Registry, and more coming as it grows!  This community is basically like Facebook, but with archival capabilities like traditional forums that can always be accessed for future reference.  For many years, we had the designated websites with forums for the niches in the community.  When everyone started migrating to Facebook, the content got lost or much more difficult to find.  The purpose of this website is to bring everyone together and make information easy to find for everyone.  We aren't replacing what is out there.  We are simply making it more accessible in a modern way that people are already familiar with.

Today, we are networking with some of the most experienced people in the community to become a CSO and make this website fill the void in our community.

EVOCHQ Focal Points

There are nine primary categories for this website (in the order of which they are being built into the site):

  1. Members (Supporters, First Responders, Emergency Vehicle Owners, Collectors, Enthusiasts, etc.)
  2. Non-Profits to Support (like Museums)
  3. Emergency Vehicle Registry (and a future Showcase as well)
  4. Events (Emergency Vehicle Shows, Collector Events, etc.)
  5. Official Clubs or Groups (mostly geared towards collectors and such)
  6. Reference Websites (that archive valuable information)
  7. Department/Agencies (As the site grows, we think this would be a great way for agencies to interact as well.)
  8. Businesses (must relate to emergency services)
  9. First Responder Resources (We hope to build this out with resources to do everything from helping someone become a first responder to helping find more resources for more serious things like coping with PTSD.)

There are a few ways that these categories will be intertwined on the website.  They are:

  • Community (just like Facebook with pages, groups, events, marketplace, messages, etc.)
  • Discussion Forums (simply put... to archive information, ask questions and help manage areas of the website)
  • Interactive Maps (Museum Listing, Featured Events and an Emergency Vehicle Registry)
  • Supporting the Website (Calendar, Merchandise, etc.)
  • and another 2-3 ideas coming soon!
